5-Day NDAA Campaign, Day 2, Stop BAH Cuts

Jul 7, 2015 -- Posted by : admin

In its version of the FY 2016 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA),the Senate has proposed a drastic cut in the amount of the basic allowance for housing (BAH) currently received by dual-military couples and cut BAH by 25% for single military members who live together.

In order for us to succeed in stopping the Senate plan to take BAH away from married couples and Airmen sharing a residence, we need your action now. We urge all AFSA members, their family members, colleagues and friends to send a letter to their elected officials urging that the Senate yield to the House on the matter of the BAH reductions for military couples and the further value reduction of the housing allowance. We also need you to urge House members and conferees to stick to their guns on stopping the Senate proposals. We strongly maintain that military members each earn the Basic Allowance for Housing in their own right.

Take action now!
